ILEAP supports developing countries in the World Trade Organization (WTO) negotiations through the development and distribution of background and negotiation advisory briefs, and through country, regional and Geneva-based workshops organized for government officials and other actors involved in trade negotiations.
Beneficiaries for this programme are the Africa Group at the WTO, individual countries, and Africa and the Caribbean as a whole. Activities and outputs for 2005-2008 are focused on the negotiating areas of agriculture, non-agricultural market access (NAMA), trade facilitation, services, and development issues more broadly. However, given the need to be demand-responsive, ILEAP's priorities may change over time.
