Trade Negotiations and Development for Central Africa - EPAs and the WTO

Convened by ILEAP, the Government of Cameroun and Université de Yaoundé II
1-2 November 2005

From 1-2 November 2005, 120 participants met in Yaoundé, Cameroun to address the trade concerns of Central Africa in a range of areas of significance to the region and to consider elements of a trade-centric outcome from trade negotiations at the WTO and EPAs. Delegates met in Plenary and in three working groups: Development, Trade in Goods, and Trade Facilitation & Services. The workshop helped to inform the development of regional positions in advance of the December 2005 WTO Hong Kong Ministerial Conference. The recommendations from the workshop were submitted to a meeting of ministers of trade from the CEMAC region, which was held immediately following the proceedings on 2 November.
